BRIGHTMOOR PRIVACY POLICY

Brightmoor Christian Church (“we,” “us,” or “BCC”) provides you (referred to as “you” or “User”) with access to this website or smartphone application (each referred to as the “Site”). The types of personal and non-personal information we gather on the Site, how we use that information, and to whom and under what conditions we may disclose it, are all covered by this privacy statement. You consent to the gathering, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information (define below) in accordance with this Privacy Policy by using the Site. Please refrain from using the Site if you do not consent to the terms of this privacy statement.

Data Collection:

When you are visiting this site or communicating with BCC by mobile device, we may gather data about your viewing habits, your browser, operating system, IP address, and any personally identifiable information you choose to give BCC.

Personally Identifiable Information:

Any information that could reasonably be used to identify you personally is considered to be personally identifiable information. Name, address, email, phone number, zip code, gender, birthday, credit card information, and hobbies are just a few examples.

What are cookies and how are they used?

Cookies are text files with small pieces of data that are used to identify your computer as you use a computer network. Cookies can be used to identify specific users and improve your web browsing experience.  Data stored in a cookie is created by the server upon your connection. This data is labeled with an ID unique to you and your computer.

When the cookie is exchanged between your computer and the network server, the server reads the ID and knows what information to specifically serve to you.  Most computers accept cookies automatically. By navigating to the options menu of your browser, you can stop cookies from being stored on your device.

BCC may place a “cookie” on your computer to enable us to recognize you when you visit our site to give you a personalized experience and track your viewing habits.  We do not use cookies to obtain any personal information about you before or after you leave BCC sites.

What type of information does BCC collect?

BCC collects two separate types of information. One category is voluntary information, which you provide, including membership details, shipping and payment details, or information related to event registration. The second kind of information that BCC gathers is user data, which is information that is provided by your computer each time you visit this website or by your mobile device when you make text message requests, and we respond to them.

What does BCC do with the information that is collected?

The information BCC gathers enables us to provide you information and services. We may combine information we gather with data we get from other sources. Your personal information may be used by Novi Christian Academy, Train Station Preschool, and Brightmoor Legacy Foundation as well as BCC for church-related purposes. This includes information you give to BCC or that we collect through this website or mobile communications.

We will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to commercial entities. We may disclose your information to companies that perform services for us as well as related or affiliated church entities. Any information that BCC may disclose to third parties (aside from service providers and related church entities) will only be made available in aggregate and will not include any personally identifiable data. For marketing and church statistics, aggregate information is helpful. Without your specific permission, BCC will never disclose your name, address, email address, or phone number unless it’s required to do so to abide by the law or for legal purposes.

You might be able to access chat rooms, message boards, or other similar discussion platforms through BCC or other affiliated church organizations. Please be advised that any information you disclose in these arenas is deemed public information and is not protected.

How does linking to other sites affect my privacy protections?

As a courtesy, BCC provides links to other sites that are neither owned nor controlled by BCC. Some of these sites may use the BCC logo. These third-party sites, however, are NOT subject to or bound by the BCC Privacy Policy. Such third-party sites may or may not have their own privacy policies and may or may not collect personal information from you or place cookies on your device. BCC is not responsible for the privacy policies or any information collection practices of these sites or any damages resulting therefrom.

How does BCC protect the security of information collected about me?

BCC places a high priority on the security of the information you provide. As a result, BCC has taken a number of steps to safeguard your information. An SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection is used for any transactions requiring sensitive information, such as your credit/debit card number and expiration date. This connection provides increased security to the information as it is transmitted to our website. If our security system is compromised, BCC will try to let you know as quickly as possible.

BCC protects the privacy of children:

Children’s safety and privacy are priorities for BCC. Without verifiable parental consent, BCC will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from minors under the age of 13. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about how children’s privacy is protected, or if parents want to refuse consent and ask BCC to erase their child’s information.

BCC reserves the right to change or amend this policy:

This policy is effective as of June 1, 2023. BCC retains the right to change, amend, or restate this policy. To find out the most recent policies, you should periodically check this page. The conditions of this privacy policy will continue to apply to any information obtained under the existing policy. All new information gathered after the changes go into effect, if any, will be governed by the revised privacy policy.

Your affirmative consent to Brightmoor’s collection and use of personally identifiable information:

By using this BCC site, you are giving us your express consent to use the information that we collect about you in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.
