Justin Razor’s Story

Justin Razor – A Miracle in Motion

On December 19, 2022, Rachel Razor mentions that our lives changed with one phone call. Our 10 year old son, Justin, had been diagnosed with epilepsy just a month earlier. After what was supposed to be a routine MRI, his neurologist called with heartbreaking news: Justin’s seizures were being caused by a brain tumor. We were grateful to learn the tumor was not malignant and could be removed, but the fear and uncertainty were overwhelming.

After seven months of extensive testing, Justin underwent surgery to remove the tumor. We prayed this would be the end of his seizures—but within a week, they returned. Medication offered no relief. All we could do was trust God and the medical team to guide us toward the next step. We held tightly to our faith, believing that God was in control and that healing was still possible.

Over the next year and a half, Justin endured every type of neurological test available, including an eight-day hospital stay where surgeons placed electrodes directly into his brain to monitor seizure activity. In January 2025, he underwent an 8½hour craniotomy to remove damaged tissue believed to be the source of his seizures. Yet again, within days, the seizures returned. After three brain surgeries and countless treatments, we were devastated. We felt time slipping away.

During this season, we clung to Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” We believed God had a greater plan for Justin—we just needed to trust Him.

On July 28, 2025, Justin underwent his fourth brain surgery to receive an RNS device, a technology designed to detect abnormal brain waves and stop seizures as they begin. Doctors told us it usually takes a year to see meaningful improvement.

But God had other plans. Within just a few weeks, we witnessed the miracle we had been praying for. Justin went from experiencing daily, debilitating seizures to having only one or two a week—and with minimal side effects. His doctors were amazed. They told us this was only the beginning and that Justin would continue to improve over time.

Today, after four brain surgeries, Justin has no cognitive deficits, no memory loss, no speech impairments, and no vision loss. He is earning straight A’s in seventh grade and has returned to playing goalkeeper on his travel soccer team. He is truly one of God’s miracles.

Without prayer and God’s unwavering faithfulness, we could not have endured this journey. Through every setback and every victory, we have seen God’s glory revealed in our son’s life.

To God be the glory—He is still working.
