Jason Ridgeway – A Testimony of God’s Healing Power
My name is Jason Ridgeway. I’m a husband and a father of two, and my life took an unexpected turn a little over two and a half years ago. While working from home, I suddenly experienced a stroke. My speech slurred, the right side of my body went numb, and I stumbled into the room where my children were playing—trying to convince myself, and even them, that everything was fine. I reached for my Bible audio to steady my mind, but the words in my heart couldn’t make it out of my mouth. My wife immediately recognized the seriousness of the moment. What we didn’t know then was that this would become the beginning of a miraculous healing journey—one that would bring glory to God.
In the months that followed, the Lord restored my body completely. I recovered fully from the stroke and began pursuing healthier habits, eventually reaching a strong, healthy place physically. I felt great… until suddenly, I didn’t.
My wife and others began noticing a change in my appearance and demeanor. Out of caution, we went to the hospital for a checkup. That visit marked the beginning of the hardest battle of our lives: a diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon Cancer.
The medical fight was intense, and the prognosis was devastating. But from the very beginning, we made one thing clear to every doctor, nurse, and specialist—we put our faith in Jesus Christ. We declared that nothing is too hard for Him. This past July marked one year since that diagnosis, and we celebrate it as a testimony of God’s faithfulness. The medical team originally estimated that I had less than six months to live, yet today those same professionals acknowledge the undeniable power of Almighty God at work.
Right now, we are living in the middle of a miracle. While we continue to await a doctor’s report declaring complete healing, we stand firm on the report of the Lord and walk daily in His sustaining power. This past Resurrection Sunday, I worshiped in church—not in a hospital room, not in pain, not in a wheelchair, but standing with joy in my heart. This journey has taken me far in a short amount of time, and through it all, my anthem has remained one of praise and worship. God continues to provide for every need and has chosen to use my life to display His mighty hand.
To anyone facing an overwhelming battle—whether physical, emotional, or otherwise—I want to encourage you: God is faithful. God is limitless. God is gracious. Just as the ten lepers in Scripture were healed as they went, keep moving forward toward victory. God never fails.
Thank you for every prayer, every card, and every message of encouragement. Your support lifts us up daily. We continue praying for others as well, believing God for breakthroughs, healings, and miracles in impossible situations.
Praise God—He is still in the healing and miracle-working business!
