Stephen and Kristi Lupo’s Story

From Novi Christian Academy to Rome – Stephen and Kristi Lupo

Brightmoor and NCA helped Kristi, and I become Missionaries in more ways than not. We both grew up at Brightmoor and met in the youth group when we were 11 years old. We had some of the best youth leaders’ pastors a teenager could have asked for. We had fun, but more importantly were discipled into becoming passionate followers of Jesus. Later in eighth grade, Kristi and I were both called into ministry on the exact same night. If it were not for the biblical values, rich discipleship, and opportunities that Brightmoor gave us, our lives would look quite different today.

Living in Egypt, Kristi and I have had the opportunity of serving alongside a new Church plant. We experienced many things such as: language & culture, worldview change & shift, but more importantly a deeper heart for those lost. It was an amazing experience to live in a new place, being in the middle east, and having a deeper dependence on Jesus. Living in a new foreign area can be stressful but also fulfilling if you are willing to lean into the chaos of change. We learned from a young age at Brightmoor and NCA what it meant to have a deep meaningful relationship with the Lord and how God is always in control. We just have to stay faithful, obedient, and have a hunger for Him.

Being missionaries has given us both a passion for serving the Lord – allowing God to stretch us in our giftings. We have seen souls saved, lives restored, and miracles in action. We believe we are exactly where God has us. Although we live Europe, the place where the Catholic church has made history for centuries, we are constantly reminded of the lack of access to the gospel this country has. We consistently meet people who have never truly heard the Word of God before. This has sparked our passion for the Lost that was birthed inside our hearts when we gave our hearts to the Lord. As we continue the work He has put us in, we know that He has greater in store for us if we are willing to stay faithful.
