Bob & Francyne Molnar – The Power of Prayer
Not long after my husband (Bob) and I (Francyne) began attending a new church, I was invited to a women’s Bible study. I didn’t know a single person there, but my husband was working at the fire station that night, so I decided to go. About 25 women gathered from 7 to 9 p.m., and everything felt normal—until around 8:30.
Suddenly, I felt a strong stirring in my spirit, a deep sense that something was wrong, and I knew it had to do with my husband. Being new and not knowing anyone, it wasn’t easy to speak up, but I felt compelled. I quietly interrupted and said, “Excuse me, I’m so sorry, but I feel like something is wrong with my husband. He’s a fireman and he’s working tonight. Could we please pray for him?” The women were gracious and immediately joined me in prayer.
The next morning, when my husband came home, he asked how the Bible study went. I told him it was wonderful—until about 8:30. His face changed. He began describing a warehouse fire they had responded to that night. Inside the building, visibility was nearly gone. Smoke rolled across the ceiling, and the heat intensified like a wave moving toward him. He realized he had to get out quickly. As he turned to run, unsure of his surroundings, a small window suddenly came into view, letting in just enough light to guide him out. As he jumped through, flames burst out behind him.
I looked at the clock. It was exactly 8:30.
In that moment, we both knew—God had prompted prayer at the very time he needed it most. The Lord had protected him and guided him out of danger.
Together, we praise God for His protection and for the incredible gift of prayer.
To Him be all the glory.
